This course will present and develop student's skills and knowledge to conduct EVO training to law enforcement personnel. In addition to developing personal driving skills each student will be required to demonstrate their proficiency while presenting instruction to in-service personnel on a one-to-one relationship. Students must achieve a score of 80% or higher to successfully complete this course. Students must have a minimum of 3 years police experience to be selected for the course.
NOTE: No one is ensured a seat in this course until WRITTEN NOTIFICATION is given by the Driver Training Unit, Administrator. Written notifications are sent six (6) weeks prior to the class start date. DO NOT send payment until confirmation is received. Non-Maryland Police Agencies fee is $750.00.

Class Description
(2nd week of 2-week course)A ten-day (75 hour)course of instruction will focus on all areas of training officers to safely operate a police vehicle. Liability, policy and legal issues will be discussed. Instructional techniques, styles and course development plus course layouts are presented. Vehicle dynamics, defensive, skill, skid control, and emergency/pursuit operations are discussed. Each student is required to demonstrate their proficiency while operating a vehicle in each of the above areas. To successfully complete this course a minimum of 80% is required in all skill areas and 70% in academic presentations. This course satisfies the requirements for a portion of MPCTC EVOC Instructor Certification.
